She has played with Memphis hometown favorites Wendy Moten, Reba Russell, Kirk Whalum, and Larry Dodson of the Barkays. Candy has made music and toured nationally and internationally with some of industry’s best, including David Porter, William Bell, Toni Green and the late great J Blackfoot from Stax Records, Howard Hewett & Shalimar, and Cherelle. She returned to her hometown and lent her sultry vocals and fiery-energy to the hip-hop/rock/soul band Free Sol, who won the 2003 Mid-South Grammy Showcase and released an album, 11:11. Candy landed a spot in the Top 100” during the second season of American Idol. She earned a BA in Communications from Boston College, singing in Boston College’s gospel choir.
